Marlinchen and her two sisters live with their wizard father in a city shifting from magic to industry. As Oblyaโs last true witches, she and her sisters are little more than a tourist trap as they treat their clients with archaic remedies and beguile them with nostalgic charm. Marlinchen spends her days divining secrets in exchange for rubles and trying to placate her tyrannical, xenophobic father, who keeps his daughters sequestered from the outside world. But at night, Marlinchen and her sisters sneak out to enjoy the cityโs amenities and revel in its thrills, particularly the recently established ballet theatre, where Marlinchen meets a dancer who quickly captures her heart.

๐ญMy review๐ป This book was everything! This book was my first by the author, I am now an Ava Reid fan. This book was very dark and creepy and full of twists and turns. It had a little bit of everything and a little something for everyone. It was very well written and Ava Reid's imagination is so awesome and dark!. There is soo much backstory and the details in this book. I love the dark/creepy setting of the story and that ending is perfect. I really enjoyed this book it was right up my alley. I will be looking for more books from the author for sure.
